Mission

Alliance Mission: To drive advocacy and collaboration to move NC Ys forward.

YMCA Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthier spirit, mind and body for all.

Driven by its founding mission, the Y has served as a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community for more than 175 years. The Y empowers everyone by ensuring access to resources, relationships and opportunities for all to learn, grow and thrive.

We're for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Serving Communities

At the Y, we take immense pride in our work to strengthen communities and help all of us be our best selves. We provide a place to play, learn, be healthy, eat well, and give back. We give parents childcare, young adults job training, seniors a way to connect and children a safe place to go.

Everyone—no matter who they are or where they’re from—deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. Everything the Y does is in service of making sure people and communities thrive.

Commitment to Inclusion & Equity

The North Carolina Alliance of YMCAs is committed to intentionally leading and boldly modeling inclusion along all dimensions of diversity on our journey to be the anti-racist, multi-cultural organization we aspire to be. The Alliance will advocate for policy changes within our policy framework aimed at dismantling systemic racism and ensure equitable opportunities for all individuals to reach their full potential.
